Oba Barrister Sunday Olusola Adewumi JP, Okinbaloye I (2009 – ...)

His Royal Majesty Oba Barrister Sunday Olusola Adewumi, Okinbaloye I, the reigning Onigogo of Igogo Ekiti,was born into the royal family of late Raphael Bamisaye Adewumi and Mrs Elizabeth Oladunni Adewumi of Oke Owa Compound, Igogo in the late ’50s.

He grew up in Ghana where he attended Weweso Primary School and passed out in 1971. He attended Akure High School, Akure from 1976 to 1981 and Baptist Academy, Obanikoro, Lagos for his advance level studies from 1984 to 1986. He is a graduate of Lagos State University, Lagos where he studied law from 1988 to1991. To complement his law degree as it is the norm, he attended Nigeria law school, Victoria Island between 1991 and 1992 for his B.L..

Oba Okinbaloye also attended the School of Theology, Lome, Togo from 1997 to 1998 and bags a Ph.D (Honoris Causa) in Conflict Management & Strategic studies from Littoral University, Porto-Novo in 2011. He was offered the Award of Excellence from the School of Political Science and Law, Littoral University, Portonovo in 2012.

He is a managing partner in the law firm of Ogunkanmi Adewumi & Co from 1992 to date. Oba Sunday Adewumi has travelled extensively to many countries of the world. He is happily married to Deaconess Olufunmilola Morounmubo Adewumi and blessed with children.

Oba Okinbaloye left the United States of America in 2009 to be crowned and serve his place of nativity. He received his staff of office on 12th December, 2009.

Within seven years of his reign, he has projected Igogo beyond imagination, a proven justification for his ascendancy and unparalleled whole acceptability to the throne.
